Story of Rishikesh
Rishikesh, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, is known as the ‘Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas’ and the ‘Yoga Capital of the World.’ Few know that the Beatles spent time here in 1968, composing many songs in the peaceful ashrams along the Ganges. According to legend, Lord Rama did penance here after defeating Ravana, and the Lakshman Jhula bridge stands at the spot where Lakshman is believed to have crossed the Ganga on a jute rope. The sound of temple bells, the sight of floating diyas, and the chants along the ghats make this city a living canvas of spirituality and adventure.
